Bogale has now written his own history in a keenly contested race that went to the wire. Bogale went into Saturday's game tied on 14 goals with two Abubeker Nasir of Ethiopia Coffee, Getaneh Kebede of Wolkite and Richmond Adongo of relegated Addis Ababa City. His two goals took his tally to 16 goals, taking him clear of his fellow contenders. Bogale showed his intentions as early as the third minute when he shot Sidama ahead. The goal was already enough to earn him the prize. Fokereyesus Tewoldebirhan equalised for Hadiya Hossana on 36 minutes and the game was poised at 1-1 at halftime.
